About Kat
Polish-born and based in Cape Town, Kat van Duinen founded her namesake house in 2010.
Her work draws on her European heritage and her connection to Africa: its textures, colour and creative expression. Through close collaboration with South African artisans, she translates this perspective into leather goods and clothing defined by considered form and distinctive detail.
At the heart of her practice is a commitment to making in Africa: preserving skills, nurturing local talent and creating pieces that carry the character of the hands and place that made them.
